  1. Consistency: Being consistent, multiple times per day, goes a long way in building the edge on growing affinity with a user base. My recommendation is that administrators post 2-3 times per day. One way to accomplish this is to use the Facebook SCHEDULE feature (clock icon) at the lower left of the status update bar. Admins can create a content schedule to avoid having to be online all the time.
    • Don’t forget to stay connected. The point of social media is being social.
  2. Visual: With Facebook timeline changes, engaging content is more visual content. Fans want to see fun and engaging images of your business, employees, etc. Images will build engagement.
  3. Ask for engagement: Don’t underestimate the power of asking for engagement. Post images or posts with calls to action like, “How many ‘likes’ for this picture,” or “Do you ‘like’ this?” Take it one step further and ask for comments or ask simple ‘yes/no’ questions or responses that are simple like ‘either/or’ or ‘this/that.’

Take this simple steps and you will be on your way to building engagement with your Facebook fans. Engagement will help build your base of LIKES too.
